I’ve accepted the position of Town Manager in Cottrell, Virginia.
The previous Town Manager didn’t work out, something about embezzlement. I did ask about it in my interview, but the responses were quite vague. I took the job anyway. I can’t be too picky since I am over 60 now and ageism is so rampant in our society. I wouldn’t be able to handle going back to a pharmacy for work.
I’m renting a space in the office building next to Max’s Place. I have been familiarizing myself with the town over the last two weeks and my first official day is Monday. The commute sucks, but I should be able to work from home part of the time.
My first task is to get the town online. I admit that the town’s lack of technology is surprising, but it will be easier starting from scratch. I plan to make a combination municipal and tourism site, since they have neither.
